Ingrid Dekker (born in 1967) graduated in 2001 from the Johan Borgman College as a Paranormal Therapist and has been running her own practice in Naturopathy for 26 years, specializing in Energy healing herapy, EMDR, and constellations related to illness and health.
Over thirty years ago, she began her career as a manager in the police force. She completed her education at the Dutch Police Academy and worked as a police inspector in a disadvantaged neighborhood in The Hague. This knowledge and work experience formed an important foundation for her understanding of human behavior, the dynamics of victim-perpetrator relationships, exercising power and aggression, and the application of force.
It was during this time that she first became consciously aware of healing energy. She noticed that when she placed her hands on the abdomen of her chronically ill one-year-old daughter, something invisible and unexplainable happened energetically. By directing her hands and thoughts towards her daughter's pain, energy would flow, leading to either improvement or deep sleep. This sparked her curiosity, leading her to delve deeper into this form of energy. To better understand and control these energy flows and apply them in a therapist-client relationship, she pursued a 4-year HBO degree in energy healing therapy at the Johan Borgman College in Utrecht, now known as the CAM Institute. She completed her internship at Hans Nieuwenhuis's practice in Arnhem, where she learned the intricacies of the profession. Since 1998, she has been working as an energetic therapist in her own practice. Over time, she further specialized in EMDR and constellation work.
As both a person and a therapist, Ingrid is known for her groundedness; she stands firmly on the ground and avoids esotericism. She listens attentively without passing judgment and has the ability to see beyond the surface, hear what is not said, and perceive what is not visible. This enables her to provide feedback on things you may not be aware of, allowing you to progress further on your journey.
Her aspiration is to bridge the gap between conventional healthcare and complementary therapies. In her vision, it is essential for every town in the country to have an adequate number of therapists available in the complementary field, alongside conventional healthcare providers such as GPs, physiotherapists, and mental health services. "A CAM therapist on every corner" is her motto. To further shape this vision, she conducted research during her studies in Public Administration at Utrecht University on the familiarity of GPs in the Gelderland-Midden region with complementary therapies and their reasons for referring or not referring to CAM practices. In addition to her private practice, Ingrid collaborated with GP Jose van Ditmarsch at the HHH GP practice in Huizen and the De Kolk group practice in Wageningen.
In addition to her background in public administration, Ingrid is also a healthcare business administrator. She obtained her Master of Health Business Administration (MhBA) from Erasmus University in 2018. During this program, Ingrid discovered many untapped opportunities for collaboration between conventional and complementary healthcare providers. For instance, many clients receiving treatment from mental health services also visit complementary therapists. While information exchange between these sectors has improved over the years, there is still room for enhancement.
The beauty of being an energetic therapist for Ingrid lies not only in building upon the ancient knowledge and experience of women with healing powers in generations before her but also in being able to contribute to clients' well-being without medication. Through her practice, she can offer clients more insight into their questions about illness and health and guide them through a constellation towards a healing movement and a healthy response.
